Site description:

Whiteless Breast and Pike are used as a route to get to higher fells. The erosion is classed as severe due to the steep gradient of Whiteless Breast. Altitude of Whiteless Pike is 660m.

Geology

A steep outcrop of less resistant Skiddaw Slates.

Ecology:

Upland grass species with bracken encroachment on the lower slopes. Small amounts of heather on steep rocky slopes.

Level of use:

Moderate

Because of its proximity to Grasmoor and the popular Buttermere Valley.
