What We Are Working On Now

The Covid-19 pandemic has severely disrupted our activities in 2020.  Our staff were furloughed from April to June and our volunteers were also unable to work in those months.  Since then, our Rangers have returned to work with enthusiasm and our volunteers have also returned to the fells with great gusto.

Since returning, the Rangers have been working hard on repairing erosion on paths in the following areas:

Loughrigg Fell, Grasmere

Greenup Edge, above Grasmere

Dovedale, near Ullswater

Styhead Pass, Borrowdale

Scafell Pike, Wasdale

Since June, the Fix the Fells Volunteers have been clearing drains and keeping paths in good order all over the Lake District, with groups of up to six venturing out most days of the week to catch up on the lost time.
